More catchup, this time from around the world:

Hurricane Electric’s global expansion has taken its network into another corner of Europe for the first time. HE has opened a PoP in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The new node is located within the University of Zagreb Computijng Center, SRCE Zagreb. It’s the 40th PoP in Europe for HE, and as usual there are further expansions on the drawing board as well.

The Hawaiki cable system has brought in some additional expertise to help construct its cable between the US west coast, Hawaii, and Australia/New Zealand. The New Zealand engineering firm McKay Ltd has signed a contract to build the cable landing station at Mangawhai Heads, north of Aukland.  The Hawaiki cable system is expected to come online next summer sometime.

Interoute has some new cloud partners over in Europe. Montran Corporation’s payment systems will be marketed via an SaaS model over the company’s network with the help of the managed service provider HWG. Interoute will host the services gateway via its Virtual Data Center capabilities, enabling banks to integrate instant payments and PSD2 initiatives into their own systems.

Cataleya has won a convert for its nextgen session border controller technology. Japan’s Sanntuu will be deploying Orchid One as part of a managed interconnection service aimed at satisfying Japan’s plans to phase out TDM entirely by 2024. Cataleya has been quite visible since being split off from Epsilon earlier this year.

Limelight Networks has been busy adding some new global nodes to its infrastructure. The company’s CDN now has three new PoPs in India, located in Bombay, Delhi, and Chennai. Over the past year Limelight has boosted its capacity in India by over 650% and has seen more than 300% traffic growth.
