The state Department of Education is holding its second annual backpack drive.The drive is aimed at providing children in need with a new backpack to start the school year.>> Download the FREE WMUR appNew backpacks for boys and girls of all ages are needed.The drive begins Monday and runs through Aug. 18.Donors are encouraged to drop off new backpacks at the Department of Education at Londergan Hall, on Pleasant Street in Concord.Officials said the backpacks will be provided to school nurses for statewide distribution.Any questions about the drive can be directed to Diana.fenton@doe.nh.gov.
