My first Ford and my first Hybrid! This is a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. It's my new commute car and local family car. Got it used in May 2012. The more I drive it the more I like it.
Was getting 39 to 40 MPG in my routine driving which includes both highway and city. Then after buying new tires, the mileage quickly fell to 36. An article on TireRack.com explained why.
However, with the Takata airbag recall now three years, I have decided not to drive this car until the airbag issue is repaired by the Ford dealer. Ford is not doing a good job managing this serious problem. Many people have died and lots have been injured by a device that is designed to save lives. So I have other cars to drive and hopefully this will get fixed soon.
UPDATE: Ford offered a rental car summer 2018 for airbag recalled Ford owners, so I decided to put miles on their car instead of my cars. I received a rental on August 1st and parked my Ford Fusion (per the rental agreement). Four months, 21 days later the local Ford dealer repaired my Ford and I'm back to driving it.
