Dental Implants Procedure

Dental implants are a great way to permanently fix lost or missing teeth without having to compromise your smile. A dental implant is a titanium rod that is attached to a crown, bridge, or dentures, depending on how many teeth need to be replaced. They are strong and function in the same way real teeth do, and they can last up to 25 years.

Dental implants will not only give you your confident smile back, but also help you chew and talk with ease. Best of all, they are fused to your jawbone so that you will never experience embarrassing slipping or spitting.

First Consultation

Your dentist or prosthodontist will take X-rays and impressions of your teeth to make beautiful, functional crowns for your dental implant.

Implant Procedure

The entire procedure, from initial consultation to completion, can take up to a year but normally takes around five to six months.

There are two major parts of the dental implant procedure. The first part of the implant process is the insertion of the titanium rod, which involves your dentist or prosthodontist making an incision in your gum and placing the small titanium post into your jawbone. This is a replacement tooth root and the foundation for a strong implant.

When that heals and fuses to your jawbone, you will have a second procedure during which your dentist or prosthodontist will place a crown on top of the titanium rod. The result is a natural-looking, strong replacement tooth!
