The Massachusetts man who inspired the ice bucket challenge to raise millions of dollars for Lou Gehrig's disease research will have his own medical bills covered for a while.The Massachusetts Chapter of the ALS Association launched a pilot program named for Pete Frates and he will be one of the first recipients.The aid comes at a crucial time for the Frates family. They've been open about their struggle to pay his $80,000 to $95,000 monthly medical bills.Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012, helped raise more than $220 million for the ALS Association with the ice bucket challenge.
