It has been reported that Carmelo Anthony would be willing to waive his no-trade clause for a trade to either the Houston Rockets or the Cleveland Cavaliers. So which is more likely, and what would the Knicks get out of it?

It has been a wild week in the NBA, highlighted by trades involving Chris Paul and Paul George. Well, it could get even crazier in the next few days with the latest Carmelo Anthony news.

Following the trade of Chris Paul to the Rockets, it has been reported that Carmelo Anthony would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if he were to be traded to the Cavaliers or Rockets.

Carmelo Anthony has yet to win a championship in his career and those two destinations may give him the best chance to win that ring he wants so badly.

The Knicks have been simply awful the last few seasons, but with the lack of competition in the Eastern Conference, they may now have a chance to make the playoffs.

With Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Paul Millsap, and more moving West, the East has gotten much easier.

With that being said, the Knicks may still be a piece or two away from making a run to the playoffs.

So why would Carmelo waive his no-trade clause with all of this going on?

Carmelo’s time to win a ring is running out and while the Knicks are a few pieces away from making the playoffs, they are very far away from being a contender. So if Carmelo does get traded which is more likely, the Cavaliers or the Rockets?
