The Minnesota Timberwolves have inquired on Nick Young.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot going on for them right now. The additions of Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Jeff Teague have grabbed headlines around the country, but does the team have swag? Does the team need more swag? Apparently the team is wondering if they do need some more swag since they have inquired on the Nick Young according to Darren Wolfson of KSTP.

The list of teams in the tweets from Doogie is pretty robust. The Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavilers are all in the running, apparently, and all are going to be very solid teams in the upcoming season.

The main point we should probably take away is that Doogie doubts that Young will be landing in Minnesota, so we shouldn’t get our hopes up too high. But, it is fun to dream!

Last season, with the Los Angeles Lakers, Young averaged 13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game in 60 games. Young shot .404 from three and .430 overall over the average of 25.9 minutes per contest. Young put up an average of 7.0 three-point shots a game last season which is 1.5 more attempts per game than he has ever had in any season before. While he shot an average of 7.0 threes, he averaged making 2.8 threes per game.

For his career, Young is averaging 12.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in 636 games played with 193 games started. Young did start all 60 games he played in during the 2016-17 season.

More from Sporting Sota

Young has played for the Lakers in his last four seasons in the league. He started his career with 4.5 years with the Washington Wizards before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for half a season. Young then played a season with the Philadelphia 76ers before he headed west again to the Lakers.

The shooting of Young would be a nice addition to the Timberwolves, but it sounds like teams like the Warriors are much more invested in the hunt for Young than Minnesota is. The turnover rate that Young has also could be a downfall in the mind of Tom Thibodeau.

Swaggy P is on the open market and we know the Wolves have checked in, but we’ll just have to wait and see if the Wolves buy themselves a Bean Burrito.
