May we be intentional about nurturing the fruit of love in our lives, allowing it to flourish and bear witness to the transformative power of the gospel. And may we never grow weary in doing good, knowing that our labor in love is not in vain.

A Letter from the Pastor - Thursday, April 25th - Removing Barriers to Love

Dear Beloved,

As we journey together in our pursuit of sincere love, it is important to recognize and address the barriers that may hinder our ability to love one another deeply.

Whether it be pride, unforgiveness, or selfishness, these obstacles can prevent us from fully experiencing the love of Christ and extending it to others. Today, let us humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him to remove any barriers that may stand in the way of our love for one another.

Let us choose forgiveness over bitterness, humility over pride, and selflessness over selfishness. And may the love of Christ shine brightly through us, breaking down barriers and bringing healing and restoration to our relationships.

May we be known not by our differences or disagreements but by our love for one another, a love that transcends all barriers and reflects the very heart of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mid-Week Message - Go and Tell!

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20 (AMP)

I have told the story before of Betty Allen, the lovely lady that took me to church for the first time and introduced me to the Lord.  From that time on, I have felt the need and desire to include Him in my life.  In fact, there is a song by Big Daddy Weave called "My Story" that says, "To tell you my story is to tell of Him."  I cannot talk about my life, or really much else either, without speaking of Jesus.  It just doesn't seem natural to me to live or speak without including Him because He has been, is now, and will always be, the most important person and my greatest influence.  It amazes me that it isn't that way for everyone.

I can remember a time in my childhood when I told my best friend about the importance of having Jesus as her personal Savior.  She told her family and her family replied that one's relationship with God is to be kept private.  That happened again during my teenage years.  I took part in a city-wide campaign to share the gospel.  One night I sat in my front yard and witnessed to my neighbor who was a couple of years younger than I was.  He prayed to accept Jesus and I was so excited.  However, when he told his parents, they were angry and said the same thing "one's relationship with the Lord is to be kept private."  I was flabbergasted!  I couldn't understand how someone could have a relationship with the Living God and not want to share it with everyone around.

I have learned a lot through the years.  I have watched as this nation has declared sharing the gospel something to be cautious of, and at times even ashamed of.  Sharing the "Good News" is becoming more and more frowned upon.  I fear that the day is coming when it will be outlawed as it is in some other countries.  However, this wouldn't be the first, nor the last time that the enemy has attempted to silence the Truth.  And, just as it has never worked in the past, it will not work in the future.

During the Olympic games in China, the scriptures were transported into the country even though it was illegal to do so.  Believers would download them onto memory sticks and leave them in bathrooms and other places where they were sure to be found.  There will always be those who are dedicated to sharing His story and will find a way to do so, no matter what, even if that means going to prison or losing their own lives.

One's relationship with Almighty God is not something that is to be kept private.  Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations, and that includes everyone.  That relationship is one to shout from the rooftops, to allow to gush forth. Not everyone will want to hear it but it has to be told.  Even though America is traditionally a Christian nation, there are millions that do not know Jesus.  My challenge for everyone this week is to examine how we each share how He has worked in our own lives and how we obey the command to tell that story.  God bless you.

A Letter from the Pastor - Tuesday, April 23rd - The Overflow of Love

Dear Beloved,

As we continue to meditate on the message of sincere love, I am reminded of the words of Jesus in John 13:34-35: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Our love for one another is not merely an option but a commandment from our Lord Himself. It is through our love for one another that the world will recognize us as followers of Christ.

Today, let us allow the love of Christ to overflow from our hearts and touch the lives of those around us. Let us be known by our love, our compassion, and our willingness to serve others selflessly.

May our love for one another be a powerful testimony to the reality of our faith and the transformative power of the gospel. And may it draw others into a deeper relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Living in Sincere Love

Welcome, dear friends, to another installment of our ongoing message series, "A Call to Holy Living." As we gather once again in the presence of the Lord, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to journey with you through the pages of Scripture, exploring the timeless truths that shape our lives as followers of Christ. Today marks the third message in our series, where we continue to delve into the profound exhortations found in the book of 1 Peter. In our previous messages, we've examined the call to holiness and the assurance of our salvation in Christ. Now, as we turn to 1 Peter 1:21-22, we are confronted with the transformative power of sincere love. This passage serves as a poignant reminder of the foundational truths upon which our faith rests and the practical implications of living in obedience to God's Word. So, let us open our hearts and minds to receive God's message for us today, trusting that His Spirit will illuminate our understanding and empower us to walk in the path of holy living.

In 1 Peter 1:21, Peter reminds us of the foundation of our faith—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our faith is not based on human wisdom or empty philosophies but on the power of God demonstrated through the resurrection of His Son. This foundational truth gives us a firm anchor in the midst of life's storms, providing hope and certainty even in the face of adversity. Personally, I have faced my own trials, such as the passing of my father before I left for college and the loss of my mother to cancer. These experiences deeply challenged my faith and shook me to my core. However, in the midst of my grief and doubt, I found comfort in the promise of the resurrection. Knowing that I will be reunited with my loved ones in the presence of our resurrected Savior brings solace and hope to my heart. Through these trials, I have learned to anchor my faith in the unchanging truth of Christ's victory over death, trusting in His promise of eternal life for all who believe.

Transitioning to 1 Peter 1:22a, Peter underscores the purification of our souls through obedience to the truth. This sanctifying process involves a profound transformation that often occurs amidst life's most daunting challenges. In my own journey, I faced a harrowing ordeal in 2018 when I battled a severe bone infection that threatened my very life. The gravity of the situation was underscored by the medical team, some of whom soberly imparted that my chances of survival were as low as 20%. In the crucible of this trial, I encountered the raw reality of my mortality and the urgent need for divine intervention. Through fervent prayer and unwavering faith, I clung to the promises of God's Word, seeking His healing touch and guidance. It was during those dark days that I experienced the refining fire of God's sanctifying work in a profoundly personal way.

As I surrendered to His will and embraced His truth, my soul underwent a deep purification, stripping away layers of self-reliance and pride. Despite the overwhelming odds stacked against me, I emerged from the crucible of suffering with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper intimacy with my Savior. This experience serves as a poignant reminder that even in the midst of life's fiercest storms, God's transformative grace is at work, purifying our hearts and drawing us closer to Himself.

Directed by Peter in 1 Peter 1:22b, believers are urged to exhibit profound affection for one another, emanating from the depths of their hearts. This call to love is not superficial or detached but necessitates a genuine and earnest love rooted in the very essence of our being. It transcends mere acts or expressions, mirroring the self-sacrificial love exemplified by Christ. Reflecting on my own journey, amidst the throes of a severe illness that threatened my life, I encountered a pivotal moment of profound connection. On the initial night of my hospitalization, I encountered a nurse who, despite fulfilling her professional duties, bore the weight of her own personal burdens. Despite my own precarious health condition, I was moved by a divine prompting to minister to her, demonstrating the boundless love of God in a time of crisis. In that moment, as I lay on the precipice of life and death, I became a vessel of God's love, offering solace and encouragement to another soul in need. It was a poignant reminder that even in our darkest moments, God's love transcends our circumstances, empowering us to be conduits of His grace and compassion to others. As we heed Peter's admonition to love deeply, let us seize every opportunity to embody the love of Christ, extending kindness, empathy, and support to those around us, even in the midst of our own trials and tribulations.

Let us now explore how the exhortation to love deeply from the heart can be practically applied in our everyday lives. It is not enough to simply acknowledge this command; rather, we must actively seek opportunities to demonstrate sincere love through our actions and attitudes, even in the most ordinary moments. One poignant example from my own experience comes to mind. On the day I bid farewell to one of my former employers, I found myself carrying boxes of personal belongings out of the building, preparing to embark on a new chapter of my journey. As I made my way through the office, a colleague whom I had occasionally worked with approached me, her eyes filled with tears. She expressed her sadness at seeing me go and recounted a particular memory that had left a lasting impression on her. It was a late evening, and a torrential downpour had enveloped the city. This colleague, eager to attend her child's recital, found herself stranded without an umbrella. Without hesitation, I offered to walk her to her car, shielding her from the rain with my own umbrella, despite the inevitable drenching I would endure. Upon reaching her car, she realized that she had forgotten to bring an umbrella with her. In a spontaneous act of kindness, I gave her my umbrella, urging her to stay safe as she made her way to her child’s recital. As I trudged back to my own car through the pouring rain, soaked to the bone, she shared with me the profound impact of that moment. In that simple act of selflessness, she recognized the depth of my care and compassion for others. This story serves as a poignant reminder that sincere love is not confined to grand gestures or extraordinary circumstances but is often most profoundly expressed in the everyday moments of life.

Let us reflect on the profound truth encapsulated in Peter's exhortation to love deeply from the heart. Throughout our exploration of this passage, we have seen how sincere love is not merely a fleeting emotion or a passive sentiment but a transformative force that emanates from the very core of our being. It is a love that transcends boundaries and defies expectations, reaching out to the broken, the marginalized, and the hurting with compassion and grace.

I am reminded of the words of Jesus, who declared that the greatest commandments are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody this radical love in our daily lives, extending grace and mercy to all whom we encounter. May we be known not by our words or our deeds alone, but by the depth of our love for one another.

Let us carry with us the challenge to love deeply from the heart, knowing that it is through love that we bear witness to the transformative power of the gospel. Let us commit ourselves anew to the pursuit of sincere love, trusting in the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit to empower and guide us along the way. And may we stand firm in His grace, knowing that His love never fails and His mercy endures forever.

Letter from the Pastor: Sowing Seeds of Faith

“Planting Seeds of Hope and Transformation”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we gather in fellowship, let us not forget the power of sowing seeds of faith through our giving. Your donations to our ministry enable us to sow the seeds of God's Word into the hearts of individuals seeking truth and meaning in their lives.

Through our message series, "A Call to Holy Living," we are challenging believers to deepen their commitment to living lives of holiness and obedience to God's Word. Your financial support allows us to continue sowing these seeds of hope and transformation into the lives of others.

If you feel called to partner with us in this important work, I invite you to click on the "Buy Me a Cup" button on our website to make a donation. Your generosity enables us to continue sowing seeds of faith that will bear fruit for eternity.

Thank you for your faithful stewardship and commitment to advancing God's kingdom. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you sow generously into His kingdom.

With Gratitude,
