Five Oregon Ducks Land In The NBA, Led By Jordan Bell

It took until the Second Round on Thursday night as three Oregon Ducks found new homes in the NBA and two former players signed free agent contracts.

The first off the board was Jordan Bell, who was selected in the second round. The Golden State Warriors paid the Chicago Bulls over three million dollars for the rights to Bell who could be an immediate impact player. Bell was joined on Friday by former teammate Chris Boucher who signed a free-agent contract with Golden State and both Bell and Boucher will be reunited with Elgin Cook who is already in the Warriors’ system.

Aside from the Golden State Ducks, two other former Oregon players also made their way to new teams.

Tyler Dorsey was selected in the Second Round by the Atlanta Hawks. ESPN gives him a less than 5 percent chance of being a role player in his first year. Dillon Brooks landed with the Houston Rockets, but his rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.

As far as NBA Ready, Bell will likely be the first to see an NBA Floor. Both Brooks and Dorsey will need to find their game at the next level. Boucher is in a similar boat coming off a knee surgery, but there is the benefit of familiarity in having both Bell and Cook in the lineup of the future for Golden State.

Dylan Ennis signed with not one, but two teams. Friday he signed with both Golden State and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He will have a busy summer playing in the Orlando Summer League in early July and the Las Vegas Summer League. His stint with Oklahoma City starts July 1st-6th, he’ll be with Golden State July 7th-17th.

With Bell, Brooks, and Dorsey the Oregon Ducks now have 50 NBA Draft picks in their history. The Pac-12 Conference had 13 players taken overall.
