Massachusetts Weather Forecast: Heat Wave, Finally!

This year, back-to-back days over 90 certainly qualifies. Pop in those air conditioners!

Your patience is being rewarded, beach bum hopefuls. Ninety degrees is right around the corner. And that bright ball up in the sky? That's the sun, and it might be sticking around for three whole days.

We'll take the victories where we can get them this spring, and this is definitely a victory. Friday's a comfortable day in its own right with highs in the mid-70s, though spotty and likely brief pockets of rain may shuffle through the state sometime this afternoon. Saturday could hit 80 depending on where you are. Weather.com does say there is a 50 percent chance of a couple scattered storms in the early afternoon, but overall expect partly cloudy with temperatures hovering around 80.

Sunday is your beach day. Those 80s turn into 90s — up to the mid-90s, in fact — and there won't be many clouds in the sky at all. It seems like a perfect day to check out one of these most popular parks in the area. Monday stays just as hot if you are itching to play hooky — mostly sunny with highs of 92 around the state. The usual average high next week is closer to 74 degrees.

The rest of the week sours a bit. Tuesday will still be hot in the mid-80s, but evening thunderstorms are expected to return. The sun will be out Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but temperatures will be under 70. Saturday's 75 degrees is the highest point we see through Weather.com's 10-day forecast.
