Charges of “hate speech” are used as a club to beat the opponents of the political and media elites into submission. The left is working hard every day to silence dissenting voices on Facebook, Twitter, and everywhere. The German parliament is debating a proposal to force social media platforms to either delete hate speech quickly or risk hefty fines.
The problems that many critics point out are the vague definitions of the term “hate speech” and the restrictions that the proposed law may have on freedom of speech. Justice Minister Heiko Maas disagrees, arguing it will only help protect freedom of speech in Germany.
“The point of the proposed legislation is that statements that violate the law must be deleted,” Maas, a Social Democrat, said Friday, according to Deutsche Welle. “These are not examples of freedom of speech. They’re attacks on freedom of speech. The worst danger to freedom of speech is a situation where threats go unpunished.”
Flagrant violations need to be removed within 24 hours while more complex cases have to be removed within one week, according to the proposal. Failure to remove posts may result in fines of up to 50 million euros ($56 million dollars).
“Practice shows that not too much, but too little, gets deleted,” Maas said. “We’re at a crossroads. Should the digital revolution be allowed to continue to call our state, based on law and order, into question?”
The Social Democrats’ coalition partners, including Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, argue that the law will result in censorship of legitimate speech.
“I cannot understand how Facebook, for example, is qualified to check whether content is illegal,”….

Even if you bow on bended knees to their Allah, you will still not be fully accepted. Even if you take part in all their ceremonies and rituals, you will still not be accepted. Your comment about kindness doesn’t ring true either. Name one country where they are the majority, and Jews and Christians can openly and safely practice their religions…. I applaud your idea about kindness, but I think David Wood has a better approach. Tell them, using their own books…what is wrong with their religion. There seems to be a real “glass ceiling” in their case, a limit to their intelligence that they can’t rise above. Historically most German intellectual progress was due to Jewish professors and such, who in turn raised the standards of German education. But then they were kicked out. I knew some world-class German intellectuals, very impressive people, but they were educated by Jewish professors.
Militarily the Germans were very good tactically, operationally, and at the lower levels of strategy. But they generally weren’t capable of understanding the higher levels of strategy. And the ones who did generally turned out to have Jewish ancestry.

can see, even with just the threat of the law, Twitter and Facebook in recent
weeks have already begun censoring much more than they did before (as far as
what may be read in Germany is concerned). I don’t know what happened to Holocaust
denials in the meantime, but this censorship is regarding, for instance, a
person who is merely quoting German police and newspaper reports about
“single cases” (“Einzelfallinfos”) of Muslim violence
against kuffars on Twitter which went quite under-reported, if they were
reported at all, and an account one of whose messages was at least once retweeted
by Donald Trump (@AmyMek).
“Trump can’t ban islam” is right, “we must be
kind” like this “to muslims now”, if necessary even by banning
Donald Trump (sympathizing with whom seems to be already a strong indication of
hatespeech from which the censors may go on to search for something even more “fishy”
things like the word “Islamonazi”) from social media, so they will be even
kinder to us and our descendants later.
We (and especially the media) just have to keep calm and
carry on as if nothing extraordinary is going on; nothing is indeed happening,
it is not like in the 1930s, and if Maas yesterday, in that cozy German talk
show, was wearing a brown shirt he just wanted to underline that fact even further

Hate Speech—the new censorship. Why don’t they just call it the 1984 proposed law? I guess these idiots just don’t understand what free speech really is. Sigh! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, free speech didn’t originate in Europe but right here in the United States thanks to our Founding Fathers who would be appalled at what is going on if they were alive today. And, of course, it’s under attack here everyday as well (by the left).

It seems to be quite expensive hobby to house and feed nonproductive armies of islamic invaders. Not a big surprise that european nations are almost bankrupt. Now after seriously cutting the services provided with tax payers money to the citizens, they are forced to rise taxes and invent new money grabbing schemes like these fines.

What a crazy idea. It seems Germany goes from one extreme to another. First they burn and kill Jews, now they want a Muslim country. Good bye Germany as we knew it. I can’t imagine why the citizens are not revolting, but I guess they have that clamped down too. I just can not get over this statement:

Merkel, what you define as hate speech may not be everyone’s hate speech. Take for example your recent speeches or you opening your borders for more refugees. Do you consider what your countryman say against you as hate speech for allowing the young women of your country to be molested, that your country cannot pay to keep all the refugees in housing, medical care, food, etc. Many of your countrymen seem to think what comes out of your mouth is hate speech. That you are sacrificing your own people. Yet you snicker at President Trump, at least he knows the enemy, your the one sleeping with them.

So Mrs Merkel what are you going to do about the Koran that is hate speech from page one to the end? Every Muslim in the world has a copy of the Koran to use as their guide on how to hate and kill! Most terror attacks show that the ‘devout’ Muslim quoted the Koran as an excuse for his/her barbarity! AND YOU MERKEL welcome your citizens’ killers into Germany with open arms. Merkel you are the first person in Germany guilty of hate speech by not stooping it where it stars – in Islam. May you rot in jail forever.

Maybe we never really had freedom of speech – the media was always the gatekeepers of it. Only now with the internet when we really get to test free speech, do we find out we never had it. Not really.
