Improved deal for Rashford and Griezmann update

IMPROVED CONTRACT

Manchester United will consider handing Marcus Rashford a new improved contract in the off season. United will reward him a £10k increase in pay. Mourinho has been impressed by Rashford’s work ethic. Rashford currently earns £30k a week. The contract has a clause which enables it to be reviewed again next year. The news shows Mourinho’s faith in United’s youth setup after being criticized for not promoting youngsters in his earlier stints as manager.

GRIEZMANN LATEST

After agreeing that there was about 60% chance of him joining United, Griezmann has reportedly been offered an incredible £12m a year by the club. Griezmann has revealed his intent to win trophies and is ready to quit Madrid for Manchester. It is widely accepted that the potential transfer hinges on the outcome of the Europa League Final against Ajax. A victory for United would see the deal become a mere formality.

MEDALS FOR FORMER PLAYERS

Manchester United will receive 40 medals from UEFA for their run into the finals of the Europa League. Surprisingly, former United players Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger may stand a chance of receiving medals for the part they played in United’s Europa League campaign.

AS BIG AS 99

Former United player Dwight Yorke has compared United’s Europa League final to the 1999 Champions League Final. Yorke said: “This game is as important as the ’99 final, but for different reasons. We were creating history, to do something at the club nobody had been able to do. To see the likes of Liverpool and Spurs in the Champions League and not Manchester United would be a massive blow to the club. They have fallen short in the Premier League, there is no two ways about that, and this is an enormous game for United. United have gone four seasons now without winning the league and for a club of their standards that is just not acceptable at all and considering the money they have spent this season to not end up in the Champions League will be a bitter blow.”
