One major highway was closed in both directions this afternoon for a three-car crash that killed one, and last night one person died when driving into a tree, a 22-year-old died when he was thrown from his motorcycle and a Boston Public Works employee died this morning after an SUV struck a light pole last night.

Meanwhile, an eighth-grade student in Acton suffered serious injuries when she was struck in a crosswalk this morning.
