Arrow Round Table: What Is Adrian's Next Move?!?

at .

Was that all a little too easy?

That's what our panelists were thinking after Arrow Season 5 Episode 21 in which Adrian Chase was finally arrested.

Below, TV Fanatics Kathleen Wiedel, Jim Garner and Steven Ford discuss Adrian's arrest, Rene's disappearing act and Robert Queen's past.

What did you think of Adrian's arrest?

Kathleen: Unless there is going to be some sort of massive fake-out by the creators, Adrian's capture is probably playing into his Evil Plan. After all, evil smirks are never, ever a good sign.

Jim: I agree with Kathleen, that I guess it was part of his plan and she pointed out, evil smirks are never good.

Steve: It was all part of the bigger plan. Adrian gave up way too easily with just a few words from Oliver. After everything that has transpired between these two this season,  Adrian seemed way too contrite.

Was Rene kidnapped before the hearing?

Kathleen: I'm leaning towards "yes," and that it might well be part of Adrian's Evil Plan that I mentioned in response to the previous question.

Jim: I hope so! I can't imagine he would just not show up and leave his daughter hanging. Not after the pep-talk.

Steve: I don't think he was kidnapped. I think he just made a decision that he feels is best for his daughter. It seems Lance's inspiring words to Rene had little impact.

Did you enjoy the focus on Oliver's father?

Kathleen: Robert Queen has been such a significant force in this series from the very beginning, despite his death occurring well before the series opened. As Oliver himself points out, everything he's done since returning home has been about honoring his father.

It's certainly interesting to have some more focus on the character, whose complex legacy has proved to be both positive and negative for Oliver and Thea.

Jim: I started watching Arrow during Season 3, so it was interesting for me to learn a bit of where the show started with Oliver trying to cleanse the city based on his father's request.

Steve: I enjoyed Mr. Queen coming back into the spotlight and providing some revelations. It was such a big moment for Oliver to own up to his fathers past and come clean.

What will Prometheus do next?

Kathleen: If Rene's kidnapping was indeed part of Adrian's Evil Plan, no doubt there will be more pain and suffering inflicted onto Oliver until the last possible moment, culminating with Adrian walking out of jail and into a final face-off.

Jim: If I get my wish, the next thing Prometheus will do is drop dead due to an arrow to the heart. Honestly, I'm really tired of the Chase/Prometheus storyline with him being able to out-think the entire team.

Steve: In a typical Bond villain style, Adrian will reveal his entire plan including allowing himself to be caught in order to set his true plan into motion which will no doubt bring Oliver's son into the mix.

What was your favorite scene?

Kathleen: Thea watching Robert Queen's video and the heartwarming conversation with Oliver right after it. Out of all the characters on this series, Thea's arguably been the one with the most profound character arc playing out in real time, and it's been a heavy burden for her.

Jim: Agreed Kathleen, that video was very moving, and the fact she wasn't angry with Oliver for holding on to it showed how much she understands her brother.

Steve: The stairwell showdown between Prometheus and Arrow. It was well thrown together, and it had an almost epic vibe with Oliver staring up at an awaiting Prometheus.

While it was rather short, it was impressive none the less. From the looks of things, it was just a small sample of what's to come, and I can't wait.
