Many moons ago in my past life, I use to work in a lingerie boutique. The tiny shop specialized in mastectomy fittings, and needless to say I learned a thing or two about bras and sizes. I knew how important it was to get fitted each year, and to rotate your bras daily because they lose their shape. When I first had children, all of those lessons I learned about bras seemed to have flew out the window because I was too busy worrying about my baby than myself. For years, I never took the time to get a fitting and was going off of my old size pre-baby.
The truth is nothing changed more on my body than my boobs after children. Let’s get real, I nursed three babies for around a year each, so it should have come as no surprise that they would change over the years. After my final breast feeding experience with Gemma I noticed that my cup size had totally shifted, so I decided to finally get a proper fitting. I almost dropped to the floor when I heard my new bra size. Not because I was bigger or smaller in cup size, but even my back size changed and basically I’ve been purchasing bras that have been too big on me for years, and just not getting the support I needed.
Recently, on our Disney Social Media Moms trip, Hanes happened to be one of the sponsors so I had a chance to have a first look at their new collection. I discovered the Hanes Oh So Light Bra and have become obsessed with it. It is incredibly light-weight, soft and wire free. It has flexible foam cups that give me support and a nice shape. Hanes makes the most comfortable and supportive wire-free bra options I’ve tried. Since it is important to change out bras every six-months or so, I have a few Oh So Light Bras in rotation or replace the colors like white, nude, black, and heather grey.
I have always been a fan of Hanes, after all it is an iconic brand. Whenever I needed an easy and simple white t-shirt or tank I’d pick up a pack of Hanes. Working in fashion all my life I figured out inventive ways to dress-up the simple white tee. I rarely wear heels or get decked out anymore and comfort is a priority; especially for my inner layers, my bra. Hanes brand has always been my go-to not only for myself, but my family too. The Hanes selections are totally affordable, and just goes to show that you don’t need to spent a ton of money to get good quality, and support in my case.

A poorly fitting bra is the worst! Bras that are too tight are super uncomfortable, and bras that are too big have no support. Thanks for sharing this!

Oh my, does this hit close to home for me. After giving birth, I have not even thought of checking my bra size but it’s a really great suggestion. Definitely something I should do very soon – gotta think of me every once in awhile!

Being a woman is not easy. It’s tough to go bra shopping especially since we don’t always have the same size in different stores. I tend to just stick to one brand that feels comfy. I think I should try this one!

I’m with you. I totally hate bras with underwires. They are so uncomfortable and it feels like they are pressing on my skin, not providing support.
