Dell EMC World 2017 Will Focus On Digital Transformation in the Workplace

Dell’s merger with EMC has created a mega-conference, which will focus on the ways technology is changing how every business operates.

What do you get when you merge two giants of the technology world? One huge tech conference.

This year marks the first time that the Dell Technologies family of brands will be under a single umbrella for one conference, following the completion of Dell’s merger with EMC in September 2016 (and Dell World and EMC World). The BizTech reporting team will be covering Dell EMC World 2017 from May 8-11 in Las Vegas.

Dell EMC will be showcasing the company’s combined portfolio of technologies. The key themes of the show are expected to be:

Digital workforce transformation
Security solutions that drive business value
IT solutions that help companies modernize their data centers, automate process and service delivery, and transform their operations

Expect to hear from Dell CEO Michael Dell and his top lieutenants about the fruits of the merger and what it means for the IT world. Dell — alongside Dell President David Goulden and Diane Bryant, executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Data Center Group — will headline the conference’s opening keynote, which is expected to focus on Dell’s vision for the future and how technology is disrupting every business.

Other general sessions and so-called guru sessions will focus on a diverse array of topics. Those will include the future of data center infrastructure and what it means for businesses, how the workforce and workplace are changing thanks to the Internet of Things as well as virtual reality and augmented reality, and the role of artificial intelligence in our lives.
