The couple got married in last night's episode though the happy day soon turned into terror.

Pierce got incredibly angry with Rhona after finding out she'd kissed ex Paddy and raped her in the closing moments.

Emmerdale viewers were fuming the violent scene had been shown before the watershed while others praised the honesty of it.

BLAME: Pierce blamed Rhona for the rape

Tonight, the soap carried on where it left off last night with Rhona struggling with what had just happened.

Pierce seemed unbothered by his evil ways, going on to try and downplay it and tell Rhona not to tell anyone.

"You know you wanted me just now you can't deny it," he told his new wife. "You were taunting me, wearing that necklace, goading me into it.

"You were the one who wanted our new life together, marriage, practically begged me. Now all of a sudden you change your mind again.

"You don't know what you want from one minute to the next, do you? You had me so confused I even tried to call the wedding off.

ESCAPE: Rhona tried to get away

"But you made me think that I could trust you and now I'm not so sure I can. I only hope you're not gonna try and make more of this just because you've decided we're not gonna work now. All I ever did was love you, don't you see?

"My career, our whole life will be over if you start spinning lies about what just happened."

She told him she wasn't going to tell anyone but soon planned her escape, heading for a shower and slipping away.

The vet wandered to the pub but didn't go inside, instead getting a cab to a police station still in her wedding dress.

REPORTED: Rhona went to a police station

As she stood stunned, a police officer asked what was wrong and Rhona managed to say: "I think I've been raped."

Inside the station, officers came to speak to her about the ordeal though she didn't tell them who raped her.

Rhona was taken to a sexual assault centre to give evidence – including her wedding ring and dress.

EVIDENCE: Rhona was made to take off her wedding dress and ring

Will Pierce finally be brought down for his treatment of Rhona?
