ASC Fine Wines launches Villa Sandi in Greater China

ASC Fine Wines has gained exclusive rights to import and distribute wines from Italy’s leading Prosecco producer Villa Sandi with immediate effect, the wine merchant has announced.

Located in Valdobbiadene, Villa Sandi is privately owned by the Moretti Polegato family and the winery has vineyards sprawl across the entire Prosecco area from the wider DOC to the hills of Asolo and Valdobbiadene DOCG appellation, up to the ‘cru’ of Cartizze.

Prosecco has been by tapped by Vinexpo as the big trend to drive sparkling wine growth for the future as reported by db earlier. In China, consumption of sparkling wines is expected to increase by 43.6% to 2.19 million cases by 2020, said Vinexpo CEO Guillaume Deglise during his presentation in Hong Kong earlier last month.

“Prosecco is the genuine expression of this unique terroir where we have been located for generations. Our goal from the very beginning was to help establish international recognition for Prosecco as a high quality sparkling wine. Our Prosecco is now exported to over 90 countries around the world. We are thrilled for our partnership with ASC Fine Wines to bring award-winning Prosecco to Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.” stated Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, owner of Villa Sandi.

“Villa Sandi is a leader and an innovator in the Prosecco region. The Moretti Polegato family combines innovation with a deep respect and love for the traditions of their territory. Likewise with ASC, we both believe in long-term and sustainable development. We are honoured to be the exclusive importer and distributor of Villa Sandi in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.” Yoshihiko Shibuya, ASC’s CEO, commented.
