Family-owned start-up opens restaurant in Hong Kong (with photos)
*****************************************************************
A brother and sister partnership today (April 24) opened the first Uma Nota restaurant in Hong Kong, bringing São Paulo's Brazilian-Japanese street food and cocktails to the city.

Developed by brother and sister duo Alexis and Laura Offe, Uma Nota is located at the corner of Hollywood Road and Peel Street in Soho, with a large display of Brazilian street art on its external wall catching public attention. The restaurant offers a unique twist to a long heritage of Japanese migration to Brazil. Adapted to include local ingredients, the dishes combine Japanese cooking techniques with fresh, authentic and unique São Paulo flavours.

Mr Offe said, "Hong Kong people have a very strong passion for street food and they are always looking to try new cuisines. They also want an authentic experience, which is why we also made it our mission to create a fun vibe and great friendly service."

Ms Offe added, "Hong Kong is a competitive market but it is also a foodie capital with visitors from around the world. It is the ideal place for us to develop a new food concept for the city as well as showcase Brazil's amazingly diverse culture."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, "Hong Kong always welcomes new and innovative business ideas such as Uma Nota, which is a good example of how foreign entrepreneurs can make their dreams come true in our city. We wish Uma Nota every success in Hong Kong and look forward to its expansion in the region from the city."
