Rocky Hill Shooting Victim Identified As Hartford Firefighter

A man was found at a Rocky Hill business park with gunshot wounds, and the suspect is still at large, authorities said.

ROCKY HILL CT — Rocky Hill police and state police are investigating a shooting at a local business park that involved an off-duty Hartford firefighter Thursday night. Rocky Hill police said they received a 911 call at 10:06 p.m.

Officers located a lone man at 60 Belamose Ave. — The Balamose Business Park — with suspected gunshot wounds, and he was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment, state and Rocky Hill police said. State police said the injuries appeared to be serious.

Officials said the victim is an off-duty Hartford firefighter. FOX61 reported that a source is saying the firefighter’s name is Jimmy Ngo and that he was shot five times in the back and once in the face.

A suspect was not located and is believed to no longer be in the area, Rocky Hill police said. State police said it is considered to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. At 1 a.m., at the request of the state's attorney's office, state police detectives from the Central District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, state police said.

State police said anyone with information is being asked to call 860-685-8190 or text TIP711 with any information to 274637. All calls and texts will remain confidential, state police said.
