Florida Gators in the mix for Locke

The class of 2018 is filled with many explosive scorers and Noah Locke has the scoring ability to be among the best in the class. The 6’2 guard from McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland can score the ball at a high rate and many schools would love to have his scoring ability on their roster.

Locke views himself as a scoring guard. He believes that he can score the ball in a variety of ways and that’s what makes him such an intriguing talent.

“I’ll describe my style of play as a scoring guard,” Locke told GatorCountry.com. “I can score the ball efficiently in several different ways. I can also rebound well for a guard my size. Some of the things that I would say that I can improve is my quickness and defense.”

Florida is among a list of six schools that are in contact with the talented guard the most.

“Florida, Providence, Xavier, St Joe’s Butler, Notre Dame, and a few others that have been in contact with me often,” he said. “There are others in the mix but those are the ones I hear from a lot.”

Locke thinks his offensive talent would be a great fit in Florida’s system. The history of great scoring guards at Florida is something that stands out to Locke.

“I think Florida is a great school,” Locke said. “The coaching staff has been staying in contact with me a lot and they are all great people. I think I would fit in well with the Florida playing style because of my scoring ability as a guard, Florida usually has good scoring guards that can score in different ways which I can do also.”

A program with a family atmosphere is something that Locke is really looking for in his future school.

“Family atmosphere is important to me,” he said. “Coaches that push me every day and know what it takes to become a pro, great academics, and somewhere where I feel like I am home are some of the main factors in my decision. I’m sure a lot more things will come to mind once I am about to make my decision but for now that’s about it.”

Locke hasn’t been on many campus visits as of late, but plans to go check out a few schools soon. Saint Joseph’s came to visit with Locke for a home visit last week. Xavier came for an in-home on Monday, while Providence conducted one on Wednesday. Locke plans to cut his list after his AAU season with Team Melo.
