The Marysville Pilchuck boys soccer team has a different look from last season, when the Tomahawks went 13-5-2. With just seven players returning, Marysville Pilchuck coach Paul Bartley knew his team would have to go through an adjustment period and allow itself some time to develop. But he’s liking what he’s seeing right now.
“We’re building confidence, and I feel that we’re going in the right direction,” Bartley said. “The players like to compete with each other, they feed off each other, and our practices are getting better and better. They trust each other and know what to do in different situations. I feel the momentum is building, and we just have to keep it going.”
The Tomahawks (3-6-1 overall, 2-4-1 Wesco 3A) are led by a pair of 2016 all-conference selections — forward Siloe Galvan and midfielder Danny Amador.
“Siloe was hurt a little bit earlier in the year, and now he’s in the best shape he’s been in all season, and having him up front makes a big difference. He knows how to finish,” Bartley said. “Danny distributes well, makes good decisions, can play offense and defense and is good in transition. He’s our team leader.”
