Recently, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released the statistics they collected from 2016 regarding the number and types of procedures performed during the last year. It is not surprising that breast augmentation is still the most popular procedure. Last year 290,467 breast augmentations were performed. Rounding out the top five most popular plastic surgery procedures were:
- Breast Augmentation with 290,467
- Liposuction with 235,237
- Nose Reshaping with 223,018
- Eyelid Surgery with 209,020
- Facelift with 131,106
For non-surgical procedures, Botox® continued to dominate with over 7 million procedures. Dermal fillers were the second most popular choice with more than 2.6 million procedures.
In total, surgical and non-surgical procedures combined, over 17 million cosmetic procedures were performed last year.
