Hebburn Town to host Newcastle United in fundraising friendly

SkyBet Championship leaders Newcastle United have announced that they will face EBAC Northern League Division Two club Hebburn Town in a fundraising friendly in April.

In February the Hornets put out an appeal looking for support and sponsors, with gates falling as low as sixteen paying supporters.

Their plea was met with attendances rising to 281 for a Northern League fixture against Team Northumbria and 451 for a home game against Tow Law Town.

Now they have received a further boost with that news that the Magpies will make the short trip to South Tyneside on Tuesday 18th April.

United coach and former England legend Peter Beardsley will also host a question and answer session in the Hebburn Town clubhouse following the game.

Ticket information for the game is still to be announced.
