Auto Club Speedway Celebrating 20th Anniversary At NASCAR Weekend

Auto Club Speedway this weekend is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a host of different events and activities as NASCAR rolls into Fontana. ACS President Dave Allen noted it is the first "birthday" celebration for the ISC-owned track. Allen: “We felt like 20 was a significant one; we felt like coupled with the idea that we’ve had such tremendous racing and good crowds that it was just a good opportunity to thank everybody and remember the things that have happened in the past and look at the things happening now and in the future.”

Auto Club Senior Dir of Consumer Marketing Josh Avila said activities and content around the celebration have included a specially created yearbook, meme generator and videos showing drivers' high school photos. There will be a historical showcar display this weekend and a legends Q&A on Sunday featuring Roger Penske -- who helped build ACS -- and others. Penske said of the track, "Because of its location, it’s huge for the sport to be seen in the L.A. market. I’m excited to see the track 20 years later and I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years holds.”
