Ex-DOJ secretary, Maguindanao solon Simeon Datumanong passes away

Former Justice secretary and congressman Simeon Datumanong passed away on Tuesday night.

Commission on Human Rights Commissioner Leah Tanodra-Armamento said Datumanong passed away at the Philippine Heart Center at 9:40 p.m.

Armamento said Datumanong's remains will be brought to his hometown in Magonoy, Maguindanao for the burial.

Datumanong was appointed secretary of the Department of Justice in January 2003 and served until December of the same year.

He also served for five terms (1992 to 2001 and 2007  to 2013) as representative of the 2nd District of Maguindanao province. —ALG, GMA News
