Doctor Who: David Tennant says Broadchurch boss was 'only choice' to replace Steven Moffat
DAVID TENNANT has said that it was inevitable that Broachurch creator Chris Chibnall was chosen to replace Steven Moffat on Doctor Who.

Steven announced last year that he was stepping down as showrunner of the popular sci-fi series.
Broadchurch writer Chris will take the helm on Doctor Who beginning after the 10th series of the show has aired in 2018.
David, who has worked with both writing legends, told Digital Spy he believed Chris was "possibly the only choice" to replace Steven.
"I think it was an inevitability that the world would turn to Chris," he told the publication.

"It's a big, massive, difficult job and it needs someone who is as enthusiastic and talented as Chris."
David, 45, who played the 10th incarnation of The Doctor, has absolute faith in Chris.
He continued: "It'll go from strength to strength. It's nice to know it's in safe hands, because it's such a prized property."
Current Doctor Who lead Peter Capaldi is also stepping down after this series.
David's Broadchurch co-star Olivia Colman is one of the names tipped to become the 13th incarnation of The Doctor.
Broadchurch returns to ITV next Monday at 9pm, while Doctor Who returns to BBC One on April 15.
