Former Oregon and San Francisco Head Coach Chip Kelly may be a step closer to landing a job back in the National Football League.

Chip Kelly has had doors close on him in recent weeks, including opportunities with Jacksonville and Alabama. The Crimson Tide hired hired Brian Daboll from New England where he was Tight Ends Coach. Kelly has been spotted around the Patriots facilities since the Postseason. Kelly and New England Head Coach Bill Belichick have been friends for a long time.

Could Belichick find a place on the Coaching Staff for Kelly?

According to ESPN, a move to fit Kelly into the system in New England seems fairly simple if Belichick shifts some Assistant responsibilities around to put Chip Kelly in a key spot to succeed. What I do know is that the former Oregon Coach will not be landing a Head coaching position in the National Football League for the coming season.

Chip Kelly will need to spend time as an Assistant to rebuild his image. His style of Offense worked wonders in the College Game, but did not go so well through two Stints in the NFL. Of course, it won’t hurt to have an Offensive Genius in charge of Tom Brady and Company, if that is what it comes to. Kelly will also have less responsibility and be working with a good friend in Bill Belichick.
