While winter seemingly decided to take a break and give us a reprieve with some amazing weather recently, including temps in the 60s on Sunday, it’s not going to last forever. Meteorologists in Connecticut say the warm weather will continue for most of this week, but reality is returning and there is a chance for some snow next week, too.

But before we worry about snow chances next week, we can enjoy this terrific weather which includes a gorgeous day on Thursday that features sun and temps near 60 degrees once again. On Saturday we may see periods of heavy rain.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote, “This week's crazy warmth won't last forever. Signs of a stormier pattern next week and heading into early March with some chances for snow or ice. Big cold not expected but enough nearby with an active storm track to keep snow potential up.”

As for Saturday’s rain, Hanrahan said to expect a “few downpours and some gusty winds during the late afternoon and early evening.”

A quick rain shower tomorrow morning, followed by temperatures in the 50s tomorrow afternoon. 60° likely on Thursday! Some heavier rain expected on Saturday. A little wet snow possible next week!”

While the weather is definitely warmer this week in Connecticut, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Hartford and Tolland counties for a “low risk for pockets of freezing rain Tuesday night into early Wednesday…,” the National Weather Service states.

  • Thursday: Sunshine and temps into the 60s!
