Oregon Baseball: Ducks Find Offense, Split Doubleheader at Fresno State

The Oregon Ducks Baseball team played a doubleheader on Sunday and the Offense finally showed some pop.

Matt Mercer and David Peterson had rough starts to begin the series. Both were tagged with losses. Sunday was a new day and after giving up four runs in the first three innings, the Oregon Offense battled to get three of them back. The Bulldogs tagged on another four runs late to win Game One.

Cole Stringer started Game Two and  had control early. He threw a career high seven innings as the Oregon Ducks hit the ball when the needed to. Fresno State Pitching fell apart allowing 18 walks as Oregon won their first game of the season 9-1 over the Bulldogs.

Kenyon Yovan powered the Ducks Offense going 2 for 3 with a Triple and three runs scored. Eleven different batters drew walks in the game for the Oregon Ducks. Oregon finished the game with four runs in the ninth. Starter Cole Stringer combined with Senior Pitcher Connor Swetsch for 11 strikeouots in the game.

Four true Freshman started the third game of the series including Yovan who made quite the first impression.

The Oregon Ducks wrap up their four games series looking to get out of Fresno with a 2-2 split. Game 4 is set for 6:05pm PT Monday night.
