Oregon Football has filled their final Assistant Coaching position with another well-experienced candidate in Michael Johnson.

Michael Johnson brings with him experience at every level and is another hand-picked Assistant by Oregon Head Coach Willie Taggart. Johnson will replace Jimmie Dougherty who left Oregon for UCLA.

Following the recruiting cycle and announcing the Class of 2017 the focus and spotlight has somewhat been off of Oregon Football. Taggart showed on Thursday night he is not taking time off. He was seen with former Oregon Running Back De’Anthony Thomas courtside at Oregon Basketball vs Utah.

According to Duck Territory, Johnson has experience in the Pac-12. He was an assistant with Oregon State. His NFL Experience brought him to several teams including Baltimore, Atlanta and San Francisco. Johnson also brings a family connection that may be of interest in the near future.

His son, Michael Johnson Jr, is among the top rated Quarterbacks in the Class of 2019. I’m sure at this point, a visit to Eugene could easily be arranged. The focus for Oregon Football is now on Spring. Taggart has said that there may be some open practices in the future, something that fans and the media have not seen in a long time in Eugene.

The annual Spring Game for Oregon Football is set for Saturday, April 29th.
