While the rest of her family settles in to life in Washington, D.C., youngest daughter to President Trump, Tiffany, took a trip back home to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week. Sitting front row at some of the smaller shows of the week, Tiffany did not easily blend in to the crowd, especially amid the turmoil that has surrounded her father's one-month-old Presidency. What's more, it was reported by multiple media outlets that a number of editors requested to change seats at the shows Tiffany attended.

Prior to this season, Tiffany attended at a few shows here and there alongside her mother, Marla Maples, but for the most part, she's flown under the radar. All that changed this season. Not only was she noticed, but designers were criticized for extending a ticket to the 23-year old First Daughter. Having only attended four shows this season, Tiffany was far from a front-row staple, but she made headlines all the same.

Attending Taoray Wang, Dennis Basso, Philipp Plein, and Vivienne Tam, Tiffany seems to have brought more press to the designers who invited her than they would have otherwise received. And it appears designers invited her (or allowed her to attend) for reasons other than politics. “I’m not a politician at all,” Taoray Wang told Refinery29. It was a sentiment echoed by Vivienne Tam ("I don’t want to talk about politics. I’m a fashion designer," she said) and Phillip Plein (who told TMZ, “I don't think she has anything to do with the drama. Can you blame a daughter for having a father...with the wrong political direction?").

While the designers who extended an invitation to Tiffany claim they are not making a political statement, they still made a bold statement all the same. It will be interesting to see how liberal fans of the brand respond to it.
