Touch Bar support is now live for Office for Mac [Update]

When Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro in October, Microsoft promised that Office for Mac 2016 would support the new Touch Bar feature. Nine days ago, Office Insiders got their first look at it, and now, it's live for everyone.

According to the updated blog post, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint have updates available. Word has a new Word Focus Mode, which hides the ribbon and puts the most relevant features on the Touch Bar, You can also use it to insert "comments, photos, or hyperlinks".

In Excel, you'll get quick access to "borders, cell colors, and recommended charts", and if you type an equal sign, the Touch Bar will show your most recently used functions. As for PowerPoint, the feature will allow you "to easily manipulate graphic elements", such as sliding your finger across to rotate an object.

The version number for the update should be 15.31, and you can get it by opening any Office for Mac 2016 app and going to Help -> Check for updates.

Update: An earlier version of this article indicated that the feature is live for Outlook; however, that will be coming later.
