Oregon Baseball: Ducks Lose Jakob Goldfarb For 2017 Season
The Oregon Ducks Baseball team will begin the season with inexperience on the mound, and also in the outfield after losing Starting Center Fielder Jakob Goldfarb for the season.
Spring Sports are about to get going in full force as Oregon Baseball begins the 2017 season on Friday at Fresno State. Incoming recruits will play a big part this year for George Horton. Center Fielder Jakob Goldfarb will miss the season with a toe injury. The move was announced on Monday according to the Register-Guard.

Goldfarb had already been rehabbing arm injury and now he will be sidelined for the season. He batted .248 and had an on base percentage of .343 in his first two seasons with the Oregon Ducks. The injury has shades of a few seasons ago when Starting Pitcher Cole Irvin was lost in the Preseason. He underwent Tommy John Surgery.
The Starters for the first three games was also announced Friday with David Peterson getting the ball for the opener at Fresno State on Friday. Matt Mercer and Cole Stringer will get Oregon through the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
The Oregon Ducks visits Fresno State to start the season with a four games series. First pitch Friday is set for 6:05pm Pacific Time.
