The Villian Gets The Spotlight In ‘Doctor Strange’ Deleted Scenes

Marvel Studios always gets criticized for their lack of a strong villain in their films. Outside of Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki, the rest of the MCU films seem to shortchange their villains. What do you remember about Ronan from “Guardians of the Galaxy”? Or what about Malekith from “Thor: The Dark World”? Probably not much. The same can be said about Kaecilius from the most recent Marvel Studios film, “Doctor Strange.” He was there. He did villainous things. That’s about it.

In two new deleted scenes from “Doctor Strange,” Mads Mikkelsen’s Kaecilius gets his much-needed moment to shine. While neither scene is necessary for the flow of the film, each is well-acted and gives the villain some much needed characterization. Obviously the film didn’t need these scenes, as “Doctor Strange” went on to become a huge box office success, but it’s nice that these exist and can be viewed.

“Doctor Strange” is set to be released on Digital HD and Blu-Ray later this month. [JoBlo]
