Plans in for £600m Dunfermline scheme

Plans for a £600m residential-led development have been submitted to Fife council.

Stirling Developments wants to build up to 2,450 residential units along with commercial, retail, education, community and health facilities at Broomhall Estate in Dunfermline.

Roads and drainage infrastructure would also be delivered.

The project is expected to be carried out over a period of 25 to 30 years with a contractor seleted by the third quarter of this year.

Stirling Developments already has planning consent to build 2,300 homes 10km west of Edinburgh through its Calderwood scheme.

Phase two of that project is underway with Stuart Milne, Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon and Charles Church delivering the residential developments and Synergy Civils and Advance Construction Scotland delivering new roads and infrastructure works.

Discussions are taking place between the developer and West Lothian council over phase three.
