Mark Helfrich may be considered a leading candidate at Auburn for Offensive Coordinator, but…

Last week it was announced that former Oregon Football Head Coach Mark Helfrich was listed his house in Eugene. It did not take long for him to look for job opportunities. On Firday Wikipedia was a buzz with Helfrich being hired by Auburn as Offensive Coordinator. It ended up not being true. What is true – the former Oregon Coach may be holding out for greener pastures and a Head Coaching position according to DMB Report.

Mark Helfrich is still one of the best minds in the College game when it comes to Offense. While at Oregon he took the team to a National Championship, but this past season saw several issues off the field and with injuries that ultimately cost him his job. Oregon went 4-7 on the season and missed a bowl game for the first time in a long time.

Mark Helfrich has had his name mentioned with several schools since his departure with the Oregon Football team. His name was dropped at Tennessee recently and now with Gus Malzahn at Auburn. Helfrich was fired from the University of Oregon in late November following losses to Washington, USC, and Oregon State in the annual Civil War.
