Cam Newton’s brother, Caylin, won’t be playing the SEC.

The younger Newton committed to Howard University Thursday on Twitter.

Newton attended Atlanta’s Grady High School, and he threw for 3,322 yards, 33 touchdowns and eight INTs during his senior season, while completing 65.7 percent of his passes. Newton also rushed for 1,036 yards and 13 touchdowns.

247Sports’ Composite Rankings list Newton as a three-star prospect, the No. 118 overall athlete and the state of Georgia’s No. 190 overall player.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, he doesn’t have his brother’s ridiculous size. However, should Caylin hit a massive growth spurt, Howard will have caught lightning in a bottle.

Can you imagine that?

Aside from Howard University, Newton had offers from Hampton, Kentucky Christian and Tennessee State.
