Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian to Be Sworn In Wednesday

It is Koutoujian's second term as Middlesex County sheriff.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, MA – Peter Koutoujian will be sworn in Wednesday for his second term as Middlesex County sheriff.

Koutoujian won his bid for re-election after defeating Barry Kelleher in the State Primary in September. He ran unopposed in the general election.

It is Koutoujian's second term as sheriff of Middlesex County; he was first appointed to the position by former governor Deval Patrick in 2011.

Koutoujian will be sworn in for a six-year term Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. in Nurses' Hall at the Massachusetts State House. He is just the 30th person to hold the post of Middlesex sheriff since the position was established in 1692.
