A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has hit off the coast of northern Sumatra.
The U.S. Geological Survey website reported the quake struck around 5 a.m. Wednesday Western Indonesian Time.
Indonesian television is reporting that 20 people have died as a result of the quake.
No tsunami warnings were immediately issued.
