Attention, Reston Locals: Bring Your Toys to Reston Town Center

Toys for Tots is holding a collection event at the pavilion this Friday.

RESTON, VA — Toys for Tots is holding a collection at the Reston Town Center Pavilion this Friday, so if you'd like to help needy children with your toys or cash donation, mark it on your calendar.

The Toys for Tots Collection Event will take place from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at the pavilion, rain or shine. The United Methodist Church and 123 Junk with be on hand to accept unwrapped toys and cash donations, "so stop by and enjoy the feelings of the holidays, knowing your gift is making a child’s wishes come true," the RTC website states.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve and headquarter in Triangle, Va. It was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks with the aim of distributing toys to children whose parents can't afford to buy them on Christmas.
