The Oregon Ducks Search for a Head Coach may be nearing a target.

According to a USA Today report PJ Fleck, Head Coach at Western Michigan is the Flavor of the Day. It would be an interesting move and one that may allow Oregon to retain some of current Offensive mold with a slightly new mantra.

Even if you have heard or never heard of PJ Fleck, here are some things you need to know about him.

Five Things You Should Know About PJ Fleck

1. PJ Fleck played the game. Fleck was a Wide Receiver at Northern Illinois before signing with the San Francisco 49rs as an Unrestricted Free Agent following the 2004 NFL Draft. He saw injury end his playing career, but soon saw the start of a Coaching Career.

2. Ohio State came calling with a Grad Assistant position in 2006. He worked with Tight Ends and Special Teams. He was there for one season, but it was a good one. The Buckeyes earned the Big Ten Championship and made a trip to the 2007 BCS National Championship.

3. Fleck is an Offensive Mind and signed with Western Michigan in 2012. He immediately had an impact on the program setting the mantra of ‘Row the Boat,’

4. Fleck built Western Michigan from the ground up. His first year he won one game. ONE. What led to the rough season were injuries, youth, and inexperience(sound familiar?) He turned it around in 2014 going 8-4 and scheduling Michigan in 2015 taught the team a lot moving forward. 2015 saw a 7-5 record that led to a 12-0 season in 2016.

5. PJ Fleck has some big connections in College Football. Some of the folks he has worked with include Jerry Kill, Dave Doeren. Fleck was hired by Greg Schiano at Rutgers as Wide Receivers Coach.
