Nat Wolff and Alexander Skarsgard are starring in Dan Krauss’s feature film adaptation of his documentary “The Kill Team.”
Based on true events, “The Kill Team” tells the story of a young American soldier trapped between his conscience and survival when members of his platoon carry out a murderous scheme in the wasteland of Southern Afghanistan.
The film is in pre-production. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce for Temple Hill Entertainment (“The Maze Runner”).
Cornerstone Films will oversee international sales and distribution and will introduce the project to the buyers at the American Film Market. UTA and CAA will jointly represent North American rights.
Wolff will portray Specialist Adam Winfield, an ambitious young soldier, who falls under the spell of a charismatic new squad leader, played by Skarsgard. But when a young Afghan farmer is killed under murky circumstances, his admiration becomes increasingly tainted and when he attempts to pull away from the group, he’s dragged into a dangerous match of psychological warfare with his own brothers in arms.
“When we first saw Dan Krauss’s documentary we were shocked by this story and blown away by his direction,” Bowen and Godfrey said. “His film’s scope and tension, combined with these morally ambivalent characters, made it irresistible to watch.”

Winfield pleaded guilty in 2011 to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to three years in prison. He was released in August 2012.

Wolff starred in “The Fault in Our Stars,” which was produced by Temple Hill. Skarsgard starred in “The Legend of Tarzan.”
Wolff and Skarsgard are represented by CAA; Wolff is also represented by Untitled Entertainment.
