Know your rights!
Representatives from Government Departments and local authorities are attending a national environmental awareness seminar in Newbridge today (Wednesday). The attendees will receive updates on the 'Access to Information on the Environment' Regulations.
As well as giving the public specific rights to access environmental information, the AIE Regulations also oblige public authorities to be proactive in disseminating environmental information. Over 40 formal requests were made to Kildare County Council in the past 3 years.
