The Yolo County Senior Resource and Crime Prevention Fair is returning to Woodland.

The 9th annual event will be held on Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woodland Community Center, 2001 East Street in Woodland.

According to Yolo County Enforcement Officer Kevin Clark, more than 70 agencies and vendors will be on hand to distribute information about resources and services locally available to seniors. Legal Services, In-Home Healthcare and Assisted Living are among the services that will be available.

Guest speakers will also be present to provide information about how to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

According to Clark, there are many new resources for seniors this year.

Services that will be offered during the fair include: flu shots, hearing tests, and on-site shredding. A continental breakfast will be served as well with raffle prizes to conclude the event. All of these items will be free.

District Attorney Jeff Reisig said of the event, “We are committed to community outreach efforts that increase awareness to help prevent fraud-related crimes that affect our seniors.”
