What are your thoughts on the Oregon Ducks Football 2016 season that already has two losses?

The Oregon Ducks are off to a 2-2 start in 2016 and part of the fan base is not content having a losing football team in Eugene believing that everything needs to be perfect all the time. If you had to put on the Athletic Director hat, what would you do to fix the problem, if there even is a problem with the Oregon Ducks?

Before we get to the vote, let me give you a reality check. Last season, the team was in a similar situation with Vernon Adams, and turned it around to finish 9-4. Every season will not be a 10 win season, but I don’t think we have to go off of Twitter and follow what some are saying. I have seen everything from Fire Helfrich(which seems to start at the beginning of every season), to ‘Bring in Herbert Because Prukop Isn’t The Right Guy’

From my perspective, the issues don’t stem from this season. They stem from about three years back when Oregon Football was ranked highly and led by a Star Quarterback named Marcus Mariota. Back then, the team needed to start recruiting Defensively(and they did, but it was not good enough.)

Last season the Defense gave up 28 points per game and the Offense had to keep up. With a new Defensive Coordinator who has barely gotten his feet wet, fans want it perfect and NOW. Well, it’s just not going to happen. These Student Athletes are learning on the job with a new Defensive Scheme, Perfection does not happen over night. Oregon has been within two plays of being 4-0.

Firing the Head Coach would also be a bad idea. Whoever is the replacement would likely clean house and install their own systems and philosophy, which would set the program back several years.

There are ton of pieces in play, from new players lack of experience to injuries to also keep in mind.

Now with reality laid out, what would you do?
