Red Cross teams in area of Loma Fire on Tuesday, Oct 11

The American Red Cross will have a team of volunteers in the area burnt by the Loma Fire tomorrow Tuesday, Oct 11, from 10 am to 4pm, to connect with any residents impacted by Loma Fire but may not have had a chance or means to connect with the Red Cross and to see if there is any assistance the Red Cross can provide them. If no one is there, they will leave information packages at the address, which are identified as destroyed but that Red Cross has not had the opportunity to speak to the residents. The route includes: Loma Chiquita Road, Casa Loma Road and Twin Falls Road.

Anyone impacted by the fire should call the Hotline at (408) 808-7879

The Hotline has been established to assist those impacted by the Loma Fire and will be answered by SCC Emergency Management staff. The objective is to facilitate access to government resources and information. Residents will receive personal assistance to sort through the sometimes confusing bureaucracy to obtain permits, documents, tax information and answer questions about other services they might need. www.sccgov.org/oes

How To Help

The communities of Casa Loma and Loma Chiquita were at the center of, and were impacted the most by, the Loma Fire. The recovery effort will be long and arduous, especially for those who lost their homes and belongings.

Three organizations in the area are joining forces to help. The Casa Loma Volunteer Fire Association, the Loma Chiquita Escape Route Committee and the Loma Prieta Community Foundation will join forces to raise money to help meet community needs that will come up as a result of the fire, and to thank those involved in fighting it.
