Stale Solbakken wants FC Copenhagen to build on Porto point against Club Brugge

FC Copenhagen will seek to build on a positive point at Porto in Tuesday night's Champions League Group G clash at home to Club Brugge.

The Danish side drew 1-1 in Portugal in the first round of matches and are unbeaten in 20 games in all competitions, their most recent defeat coming in May.

Copenhagen have played seven matches in Europe already this term, drawing three and winning four of them, having advanced to the group stages through qualifying.

Boss Stale Solbakken spoke of the achievement of drawing at Porto in the immediate aftermath of the match. But he will be eager to improve upon it.

"The point means we are on the board," Solbakken said after the match.

"For a Scandinavian team I think every point you get, every goal you score it's a dream for the club this size.

"We played probably against the favourites of the group away from home and to get one point is obviously great for the fans.

"It's great for the small clubs in the tournament because there are some ugly results out there."

Jan Gregus is suspended after his dismissal at Porto.

Brugge have inflicted heavy defeats on Copenhagen before.

The Belgian side won 4-0 at Parken Stadium on their most recent visit, when the sides met in the Europa League group stages in November 2014.

Brugge were beaten 3-0 at home by English champions Leicester last time out - Leicester host Porto in the night's other Group G fixture - and will hope history is on their side.

Not once has the fixture produced a home win in five prior encounters and Copenhagen have not scored in three prior home games with Belgian visitors.

Brugge have not won in six matches on their travels in Europe, though, since early 2015.

Michel Preud'homme included Felipe Gedoz in his travelling party following a recent absence, but the injured Nikola Storm stayed behind.
