Ever since news broke regarding the iPhone 7's features, all people could talk about was the fact that the device had no headphone jack. Even after the Apple Event earlier this month, iPhone users were really, really concerned about the hands-free addition. It turns out that the removal of the headphone jack technology actually might increase the phone's lifespan, but users have still been pretty worried about losing those little wireless earbuds. We get it, change is hard.

A YouTube video has been circulating the internet, promoting a fake iPhone hack that promises to "restore your headphone jack." The video advises users to put their phone in a clamp (um) and then use a 3.5mm drill (!!!) to create a hole where the headphones used to get inserted. The man in the video proudly declares, "And just like that, you have your own 3.5 mm headphone jack!"

Needless to say, this won't give you a headphone jack – just a hole in your (probably dead) iPhone. But some iPhone owners have been so desperate for the old headphone technology that they've actually tried it. One user commented on the video, "I've just done this but there is no sound coming from the headphones. I used an exact 3.5mm drill bit but the connector doesn't sit flush in the hole for some reason. The phone doesn't even detect the headphones are in. Are there any settings I need to change?"

Omg. Face. Palm.

This isn't the first time that iPhone owners have been duped by fake hacks. Remember the video that went viral that showed you how to "recharge" your phone by putting it in a microwave? Or when people were tricked into believing that iOS7 would make their phones waterproof? This is just like that, except it involves power tools.

Watch the video below, but please – don't use a drill on your iPhone.
