Gigi and Bella Hadid Wear Rainbow Eye Makeup for Max Mara

Behold: brights.

We've always known that Gigi and Bella Hadid have cheekbones so chiseled that contouring almost seems superfluous. We've also noticed that when they do reach for bronzers and blush, the results are kind of otherworldly. They're supermodels, after all, so it's hardly a big surprise. But at MFW's Max Mara show, they modeled a cheekbone-enhancing makeup look we'd never considered before today. Behold: rainbow stripes.

While the vibrant color blocking was technically an eye look, the placement was significantly different from the rainbow lids we saw at other shows this season (like Jill Stuart). Instead, MUA Tom Pecheux for MAC Cosmetics created the effect by placing diagonal slashes of contrasting shades at the temples. The stripes angled in toward the outer corners of the eyes, so that the top portion almost functioned as a graphic cat eye, while the bottom stripe skimmed the top of the cheekbone. The rest of the face was left totally clean, so all eyes were on those miniature rainbows. Call it the new way to strobe.
